Mike McGovern- Birding with Friends

For todays blog we are highlighting a wonderful day of shared birding recently experienced by some of our club members. Mike Mcgovern has provided the details and photos for this Blog Entry.

“Out for birding and bird photography on Sunday (Tingley Lagoon) and Thursday (Romero Rd., Corrales Bosque) this week… we had the great good fortune to meet with Doug Brown at Tingley and Pam Dorner at Romero.  I had a great chat with both of them, each of whom are internationally recognized wildlife and nature photographers.  Pam is an Enchanted Lens CC member and Doug has been a member, a Judge and a Speaker.  Their wildlife and nature photography is first class.  You can find Doug’s work on his website https://www.dougbrownphotography.com/ and Pam is big time into Instagram @pam_dorner

Out at Tingley we were looking for Common Mergansers, Common Goldeneye and Redheads as well as many other great species that are resident.  At Romero, we were looking for Cedar Waxwings, Western Blue Birds, Flickers and the ubiquitous White-crowned Sparrow.  Mike Stoy and I have been going out weekly for a year to many nearby Albuquerque bird hot-spots and lately sometimes David Cushman,  Jan Noah, Robert Betchel, Earl Schwers and Jan Ward are along as well.”

There are many great reasons to consider membership in the Enchanted Lens Camera Club- but the chance to meet up with other photographers for interesting shoots certainly is a top reason for many of us.
